Krzysztof Pałuszyński — technology focused financial services executive

I am an accomplished technology and business leader with two decades of experience in financial services, helping build Poland's retail banking.

At mBank, I oversaw the development of three generations of internet banking and created the team responsible for mobile banking.

For more than a decade, I represented mBank on the Retail Banking Council of the Polish Bank Association, contributing to the bank's omnichannel strategy. I also represented the mBank Group for many years within QorusGlobal (formerly EFMA) and served as a juror for the Qorus Awards. Through this work, I actively fostered cooperation between financial institutions across Europe.

I combine strong executive leadership with deep technology expertise and a clear business mindset. I build digital capabilities and modern organizations that deliver measurable outcomes—faster time-to-market, higher quality, better customer experience, and stronger operational resilience. I thrive at the intersection of technology and business, translating strategy into execution and enabling teams to transform boldly, creatively, and responsibly.

mBank Breakthroughs

2002

First Mobile Top-Ups in Poland

mBank became the first bank in Poland to enable prepaid mobile top-ups directly within its transactional banking system. Delivered in partnership with Blue Media, this innovation allowed customers to recharge their phones instantly from their bank account—bringing everyday digital convenience into online banking years ahead of the market.

2005

mTransfer — Poland’s First Pay-By-Link Payment Model

I designed the concept and business model for Poland’s first Pay-By-Link payment solution, which I named mTransfer and which was launched by mBank in 2005. Inspired by early online payment innovations such as PayPal, mTransfer enabled fast, bank-to-bank e-commerce payments and quickly became the leading online payment method in Poland. It also set a benchmark that was later replicated by other banks across the market.

2008

Early mBank Mobile Banking Apps

Together with mBank team, I defined the first concept and delivery assumptions for one of mBank’s first mobile banking applications. The initial “Lite” version was built in Java (J2ME) for feature phones and provided core capabilities such as balance checks and transaction history. Later, early Android and iOS apps introduced simplified mobile services, helping establish mobile banking as a mainstream channel. The solution was developed in collaboration with Mobiltek (Kraków).

2009

UniWniosek — No-Code / Low-Code Forms Platform for mBank

I defined the concept and implementation assumptions for UniWniosek, a platform that enabled mBank to design, build, and deploy forms and applications in a no-code / low-code model. This significantly accelerated delivery by allowing business teams to launch new forms without developer involvement, supporting both authenticated customers and non-logged-in prospects. The solution was developed and delivered in partnership with Intercon (now QRS.eu).

2014

mBank 2.0 — Redefining Mobile Banking in Poland

As part of the “New mBank” program, I co-developed the concept and rollout of mBank 2.0, introducing a completely new mobile customer experience. Available on Android, iOS, and Windows Phone, the app delivered a modern interface and major usability improvements, quickly becoming one of Poland’s most popular financial applications. The solution was created in partnership with Efigence and Accenture.

2018

mBank ReDesign — Making Digital Banking Simpler, More Personal, and Accessible

As the project leader of the mBank ReDesign initiative, I drove the evolution of the transactional platform toward what was internally referred to as mBank 3.0, with a strong focus on usability, personalization, and WCAG accessibility. Key improvements included a redesigned dashboard and transaction history—replacing the “finance bar” with a clearer account view, quick transfers, and a condensed, more actionable history. Rather than a single “big-bang” release, the experience was delivered through continuous UX-driven iterations that made everyday banking easier for all users.

2021

mBank x Synerise — Real-Time 360° Customer Intelligence & Hyper-Personalization

By integrating customer data from multiple touchpoints into a single, real-time platform, mBank enabled truly omnichannel personalization across web, online banking, mobile, forms, and the contact center. The initiative shortened time-to-market for new use cases from ~3 months to as little as 1 week and scaled from ~1.5M events/day initially to ~70M events/day by April 2023. The data-driven approach delivered measurable business impact, including a 60% increase in generated leads and ~120,000 personalized cash-loan offers in 2022.
